Conglomerates are formed by two or more companies who want to share fewer risks and reach to a higher number of customers by covering different kinds of services. These services are usually not related at all. E.g. a conglomerate can cover manufacturing and media sectors. Conglomerate companies are trying to reduce the risks that involve creating a single company. Some of the conglomerates are: Berkshire Hathaway, Comcast Corporation, General Motors, Procter and Gamble, etc.
