Sprint Nextel Corporation

Sprint Nextel Corporation

Sprint Corporation was one of the pioneering companies in telecommunications inside the United States. Sprint was born in 1899 in Kansas with Brown Telephone Company. Its founder Cleyson Brown directed the company during the first years and it got great achievements for the company by working alongside Bell communication. In 1970, Sprint had become the greatest independent provider of local telephones inside the United States. The company was the first to offer Fiber Optic Network 100% Digital at America in 1980. But the successful history of Sprint continued in the 90’s when the Spring Corporation bought Centel in 1993 by offering voice and data services as well as local telephone services, mobile and long-term. In the late 90’s the company installed the first PCS only network, of course, before it bought Nextel Corporation in 2004.

Nextel Corporation is another success story before its union with Sprint Corporation. The company was founded by Morgan O´Brien in 1987. The company had a fast development; in the nineties Nextel was the first wireless communication company inside the USA. After, the corporation bought two big companies Dial Call and OneCom. With these two companies, Nextel had the required solvency to buy the SMR licenses of Motorola in United States. The company with this technology developed its Two Way Radio communication specialized to business and corporation process. Nextel and Sprint announced its union to create the Sprint Nextel Corporation in America; it is actually the third communication company in offer communication services in the United States.
