The PNC Financial Services Group Inc. is one of the major biggest financial services corporations in the United States with a group of subsidiaries and support companies that are famous in America by its quality services and personal attention. The origins of the corporation began in 1852 when The Pittsburg Trust and Savings Company started its operations in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Six years later, the Company moved its installations and offices at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Wood Street in Pittsburg; actually, the offices of the PNC remain in this same place. In 1863 the company changed its name to First National Bank of Pittsburg. At this point the Corporation began a large process of acquisitions and purchases of other little companies.


In 1959 the company changed again its legal name to Pittsburg National Corporation after of a series of purchases and agreements with another Financial Companies. At the same time, another subsidiary company gained prestige in Philadelphia; this company was the Provident National Corporation. Years later in 1982, this company and the Pittsburg National Corporation joined in an only strong corporation called PNC Financial Corporation. The company started a process of development and achievements; it bought other small insurance companies inside United States. Among these transactions, the most important was the purchase of the National City Corporation in 2008.

 

In this form the PNC Financial Service Group had become one of the most important financial groups and holdings in America.
