Oracle

Oracle

Oracle Corp is a multinational computer technology corporation that develops and sells hardware systems and enterprise software products (it is more dedicated to database management systems). The corporation has more than 100, 000 employees in the entire world and the company has increased a lot since its formation in 2007. It became the third most important in the world only after IBM and Microsoft.

The company is also dedicated to building tools for database development and systems of middle-tier software, customer relationship management software, enterprise resource planning software, and supply chain management software.

The company started as an idea that has been taken from a paper written by Edgar F. Codd; it was about relational database management system that was called A Relational Model of Data for Large Shared Data Banks. The first idea of the founder was to integrate this new database concept to the one that Microsoft had, but the negative reaction of Microsoft stopped the new utilization of the concept. The now independent Oracle founders decided to create another company and change its name several times before it was the well-known as Oracle.

The company has become one of the most powerful companies in the world and it bought a lot of small ones to become stronger and to compete with its rivals.
