General Motors Corporation was founded in 1908, by William C. Durant. The company was created to hold the Buick Motor Company but years later, the company bought several other companies as Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and Oakland; those purchases made the company grow significantly in the market.


Today, General Motors is one of the largest companies in the automotive industry. Its products and services are sold in more than one thousand and fifty countries; the company also employs over 2 hundred thousand employees around the world.


General Motors Corporation operates brands as Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Daewoo, Holden, Isuzu, Jiefang, Opel, Vauxhall and Wuling. All of them are in involved in the selling part. These companies develop, manufacture and sell all type of cars and trucks to retail sales, daily rental car companies, commercial fleet customers, leasing companies, etc.


However the company also operates two other companies called General Motors Financial Company, Inc. and GM’s OnStar. The first company (General Motors Financial Company, Inc) gives car loans to other companies in the automotive industry. While the second company (GM’s OnStar) provides a variety of system as hands free calling, in-vehicle security, remote diagnostics systems, turn by turn navigation, etc.
