Gap Inc. operates as a retailing company. It offers items of clothing, personal care and accessories for babies, children men and women. Gap Inc. operates under its principal brands: Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta.

• Gap: It is the original brand; it is characterized for its classical American style. At the same time, it has five divisions: GapKids, BabyGap, GapMaternity, GapBody and Gap outlet.
• Banana Republic: It was acquired by Gap Inc. in 1983. Its produces elegant apparel, handbags, jewelry, perfume and eyeglasses for men and women.
• Old Navy: It was founded in 1994. It products are fashion and modern and directed to people of all ages.
• Piperlime: It is an online store, exclusively created for women.
• Athleta: Gap Inc. bought it in the 2008. As the name says, its designs are the combination of style and performance. It designs products for active women.

All its brands combines have a total of 3,300 stores in more than 90 countries in the world. It has over one hundred thousand employees. Besides its stores, it offers it products via catalog and internet.
Gap Inc. has achieved so many things since its foundation in 1969 when Doris and Don Fisher opened the first Gap store in San Francisco.
