It’s accountable for 19% of the country’s market and it has expanded its operation to countries such as Canada, Mexico & China which added to its US facilities, make up for over 1,150 stores in total.
Best Buy Co. operates under the brands of Five Star in China; both Best Buy and Future Shop in Canada and the US; and Audiovisions, Geek Squad, Napster, Magnolia, Pacific Sales & Speakeasy in the US alone.

The company is based on Richfield, Minnesota, and it is listed in the New York Stock Exchange as BBY. It was originally founded with the title Sound of Music in 1966 by Richard M. Schulze, but it came out with the name of “Best Buy” in 1983, after the slogan (Best Buy) that promoted the “Tornado Sale” that followed the hurricane of the same year.
