The Acer Group manages four brands: Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachines. All of them sell computers and computer devices such as Notebooks, netbooks, tablets, desktops, monitors, servers, etc. Since its foundation in 1976, the company quickly became one of the most important retailers of computers and computer devices; it reached incomes of about 19 billion, in 2010. In 2011, the Acer group has been ranked as the second largest PC and notebooks shipments.


The first company that the Acer Group managed was Acer. Years later; the group bought the other companies. Gateway was founded in 1985; the company quickly became a success and thanks to this, it was included in the Fortune 500 list. Unfortunately years later, it was removed because it reached the position# 507. Gateway was acquired by Acer in 2007.


EMachines started its operations in 1998, and it became one of the fastest growing PC brands. In 2004 Gateway bought this company, and when the Acer Group bought Gateway, eMachines also became part of Acer’s brands.
Packard Bell was founded in 1926; at first it sold radios and TVs, but later, at the end of 80s, it entered in the computer market. Acer bought Packard Bell in 2008.
